I’m a expat New Yorker living in Milan, Italy and (at the time of this entry) very pregnant.  I have lived in Italy, Netherlands, Greece, Africa, and my native US, so I know a thing or two about being an expat, however the combination of expatdom with expecting one’s first child makes for sheer insanity, so I created this blog as an outlet where I could write about some of my experiences here in Italy as an expectant expat.  BUT… I also cherish design, interiors, travel, cooking, and beautiful things made by hand, so though it may be a bit random, it can’t be all about the baby 🙂

  1. Hi,

I have just begun a new venture.

I wanted a store that offered classic, timeless, and cute organic baby clothing. No potato sacks!

I am interested in having my organic baby clothing store listed as a link on your website. Please, when you have a moment, take a look.

I think that you will find that we are a great resource for parents making the decision to live organically with their children and support businesses that are producing their products ethically.

Thank you in advance for your time.

  2. Hello,
I enjoyed reading about your experience through pregnancy in Milan. I am also a pregnant American expat from California currently living with my husband in Ireland. He has been offered a job in Casteggio, Italy (South of Milan) and we are considering moving to Milan in the next few months. I am due on March 9th and as this is my first child, I am scared to have the baby in Italy as I do not speak Italian. Do you have any advice on this? Do you speak Italian? Did you have an English speaking Doctor? How do you like living in Milan? Any suggestions for areas of Milan to look for housing?

  3. Hey!

Steve sent me a link to your blog. Good work on the baby – you made a good one! email me so we can catch up!
